The former prison worker Joyce Mitchell has been sentenced 7 years jail as she helped 2 prisoners escape a New York correctional facility. Joyce Mitchell, 51, wiped away  tears and apologized as Judge Kevin Ryan upheld the terms of the plea deal she reached with prosecutors this summer. Mitchell said on Monday that if she could she would take it all back. In this time her husband was sitting in the audience. She also said that she was very sorry to her community, to her coworkers, to her family, to all the officers that were involved in this and were taken away from their families in the search while these two men were on the loose. Mitchell admitted that she became close with them and agreed to be their gateway driver. Mitchell had a panic attack the day of the escape and was taken to a hospital. She was arrested a week later and has been in jail since then.
